  1. How to pause a subscription

    • Select the end date under Pause ends on for when you want the subscription to resume

  • Click on Pause Membership

The subscription will now be paused.

  • In the customer profile under the summary, you will be able to see the active subscription

  • Click on the three dots beside the subscription you want to pause

  • Click on Pause Membership

The subscription will be paused from today and the customer will not be able to use the credits from this subscription to book any classes till the subscription is resumed

3. Pause subscription from a future date

If you want the subscription to pause from a future date you can follow the below steps:

  • Navigate to the customer profile using the universal search icon

  • In the customer profile under the summary, you will be able to see the active subscription

  • Click on the three dots beside the subscription you want to pause

  • Select the Pause option from the dropdown

  • You will see a pop-up where you can select the pause start date and end date. In the pause start date select the future date option and enter the date you want the subscription to pause from

  • Select the end date under Pause ends on for when you want the subscription to resume

  • Click on Pause Membership

The subscription will be scheduled to pause from the given date. Meanwhile, the customer will be able to redeem the credits from this subscription until the pause start date.

ℹ️ When the pause is scheduled for a future date the status of the membership shows up as active and pause scheduled. The Next billing date will change once the pause starts

4. What happens to the next billing date when you pause a subscription

Based upon the pause start and end date the next billing date will be calculated.

4.1 Scheduling a pause BEFORE the next billing date (recommended)

If we schedule the subscription to pause before the next billing date then the next billing date will move forward based on the number of days the subscription is paused for.

Example:

Subscription type: Monthly recurring membership

Next billing date: 25th June 2021

Pause start date (B): 3rd June 2021

Pause end date (A): 10th June 2021

Number of days subscription is paused for (A-B) = 7 days

Next Billing Date = 2nd July 2021

For the above example, the system moves the next billing date 7 days forward

4.2 Scheduling a pause AFTER the next billing date

If we schedule the pause to start after the next billing date, the system will then add the pause duration to the billing date of the next cycle.

Example:

Subscription type: Monthly recurring membership

Next billing date: 1st July 2021

Paused on: 2nd June 2012

Pause start date (B): 5th July 2021

Pause end date (A): 19th July 2021

Billing date of Next cycle before pause: 1st August 2021

Number of days subscription is paused for (A-B): 14 days

Next Billing Date: 15th August

In the above example, before the pause starts the customer will be charged for the membership on 1st July 2020 and the next billing date would become 1st August 2021

Once the pause starts the next billing date will be moved forward by the number of days the subscription was paused. In the above case 14 days would be added to 1st August which would make the next billing date 15th August 2021

ℹ️ While you are scheduling the pause the next billing date will not be updated on the pop-up as the pause has been scheduled for the next billing cycle. Once the next billing cycle starts automatically the next billing date will get updated

5. Resuming a paused subscription

When you pause a subscription, the subscription automatically resumes based on the subscription end date. In a case where you want to resume the subscription before the pause end date, you can follow the below steps:

  • Navigate to the customer profile using the universal search icon

  • In the customer profile under the summary, you will be able to see the paused membership

  • Click on the three dots beside the subscription you want to resume

  • Select the Pause option from the dropdown

  • You will see a pop-up where you can select the Resume option. Once you click on resume it will direct you to another pop-up asking you to confirm if you want to resume the subscription starting now. Click on Yes, Resume Now

The subscription will now become active and the customers can use the credits to book classes. The next billing date will automatically be adjusted based on the number of days the subscription was paused for.
